Day Support Services News

WorkSource Enterprises provides Day Support activities approximately 45 individuals in our community. These persons come to WorkSource Enterprises each day and take part in pre-vocational, educational and recreational activities that enrich their lives.  These activities take place at WorkSource and throughout the community since a high priority is community integration and engagement.

In order to increase community-based services, WorkSource purchased two additional vehicles in the past year.  Thanks in large part to a $10,000 grant from the Foundation for Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Chesapeake District - Civitan International, Inc. and a $10,000 grant from the Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews Band in the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation, WorkSource was able to purchase a 2016 Honda Odyssey mini-van.

Funds raised through the 2015 WorkSource year-end direct mail appeal were used to purchase a Honda Civic which is ideal for outings for three clients accompanied by a staff member.

Services for most clients enrolled in Day Support program are funded by Virginia’s Medicaid Waiver program that is currently being redesigned by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).
